Kasia Bialek - Contemporary Abstract Art

Deep Resonance_edited.jpg

My Creative Process

Intuition Over Instruction

My studio practice is experimental and deeply personal. I work intuitively, allowing each piece to evolve organically rather than forcing a predetermined outcome. This approach - rooted in abstract expressionism, colour field painting, and action painting - means every artwork is a genuine emotional expression, not a calculated design.

Some pieces are bold and energetic, bursting with fiery reds and golds. Others are soft and contemplative, with botanical forms emerging from layers of colour. What unites them all is authenticity - the courage to create from the heart, not from commercial pressure.

The Journey Begins

From Textile Design to Canvas: A Journey That Started at 50

I'm Kasia Bialek, a contemporary abstract artist originally from Poland, now based in the UK. My artistic journey began at age 50 - a late start that brings depth, maturity, and authentic perspective to every brushstroke.

While many artists begin in childhood, I spent decades exploring other creative paths. My formal training at the Textile School in Lodz gave me a diploma in textile and fashion design, teaching me about colour, texture, and composition. My lifelong passion for photography trained my eye to see light, shadow, and emotion in every frame.

When I finally picked up a paintbrush at 50, all those years of creative exploration came together. My work doesn't follow trends - it follows feeling. Each piece is an intuitive exploration of emotion, a conversation between colour and canvas that invites you to feel something real.

Heritage & Perspective

Polish Roots, UK Practice, Global Reac

My Polish heritage and UK-based practice create a unique cultural perspective that infuses my work. The bold, emotional expressiveness of Eastern European art meets the refined contemporary aesthetic of British galleries.

Today, my work is held in private collections across four continents - Poland, Australia, Germany, and the United Kingdom. Each piece finds its home with collectors who value emotional depth, authentic expression, and art that transforms a space.
